Quilts for the Congo Project - Photos below the message.

Dear quilters,
 
Sorry for the delay in keeping in touch.  It took a while for me to get these photos downsized for e-mailing.  It  is quite a story, but the quilts finally arrived at the Heal Africa Hospital after many delays at customs, the border, and the quilt I made for the wall being stolen and recovered. 

Bridget actually opened the boxes 3 hours before she had to return home, so these are pictures only of them being unpacked and shown to the women in the sewing center. 

We have a small group going again from my church in May that will be able to bring home a CD of photos of some of the quilts being distributed to the women.  It is not possible to e-mail photos directly from Congo, and shipping the CD is very expensive.  The following trip will be in August if you have quilts ready by then.  They can be dropped off at Thimble Creek or by contacting me for another arrangement.
 
The children's quilts for Uganda are being sent DHL this week, so again, photos will follow a little later. 
 
Between the two projects there have been shipping costs incurred of about $500, so if anyone wants to donate $10 or more to cover these costs, it can be sent directly to Global Strategies, who paid all the fees, at the address below.  Please note "quilt project" on the check.

Your help is needed!  If you would like to be a part of this project that sends quilts to women and children recovering in the Heal Africa hospital in Goma, Congo, please come and complete any of those unfinished quilts you’ve been meaning to finish and donate them to this very worthy cause.  Our classroom is available Friday, April 18th – we hope to see you then.
