This is second issue for March! You’ll hear from me again (twice!!!) in April!!!!!

There are four colorways available – AWESOME BATIKS; NOSTALGIC 30s; KAFFE & FRIENDS; and VINTAGE CIVIL WAR. 

YOU have first shot at signing up for any (or all!!) version(s).  There are a limited number of spots open for this block of the month.  The entire quilt has been drafted out.  There are 42 blocks in this block of the month program (most months you’ll make 4 blocks). 

The finished size of this quilt is 68” x 79”.  I am very excited about this block of the month and I know you will enjoy making this one (or two, or three, or four!!).  Each month you’ll receive all the fabric you need plus a pattern for that months block.

CLUB TC members will have the first chance to see new kits and block of the months!! I have a new kit for spring:

Ahhhh . . . . SPRING!!! This one will be packaged and ready to show in the shop next week! It is made with Kaffe Fassett florals and a soft cream background. It measures 70” x 70” and it’s delightfully EASY to make!

My second new kit is Pops Day! This is my ode to Fathers!!! The fabrics are manly – stripes, plaids, and novelty “fathers day” fabrics. It’s an easy one to make! It measures 65” x 65”.

The price for this one will also be $74. But again, for YOU, if you order yours by SUNDAY, MARCH 21, you’ll pay only $65!! You must call the shop to order!!

And, FINALLY . . . .JUST FOR YOU!!!!

A recipe from the staff here at ThimbleCreek!!!  This one is from Lori Lott – with credit to one of my faves, Paula Deen!

French Onion Soup
* 8 onions
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1/3 cup olive oil
* 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
* 8 cups beef stock
* 1/4 cup dry white wine
* 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1 bay leaf
* salt and pepper
* 1 loaf french bread
* 2 cups grated gruyere

Directions:
Sauté onions and garlic in oil over low heat until tender and golden yellow. Sprinkle flour over onions, cook a few minutes more, browning the flour well. Add stock and wine and bring to a boil, add thyme and bay leaf. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer gently for 20 minutes or so. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Meanwhile, slice french bread into 3/4 inch slices and butter both sides. Toast slices on griddle until golden brown. Ladle soup into ovenproof bowl, add toasted bread and cover with cheese. Place ovenproof bowl on a baking sheet lined with tin foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes under hot broiler.  ENJOY!!!  Bon appétit!!!!!!!!!!!!
